Part VIII in our Series of of Active Adult 4 Less
A Potpourri of Great Values for the New Decade

I wish a very happy 2010 to all of you empty-nesters, boomers and active seniors.  This will be for many of you, your decade to find - and make your move - to live in an age-restricted (or age-targeted) active lifestyle community.  For some of you, price may be a concern – and as such my ongoing article Active Adult 4 Less has been offering up some specific solutions for you.

In previous parts of the article, I have taken you geographically through the country – region by region – and identified homes within communities where you can get a great value, and a great lifestyle for under $200,000.  In some instances I have even identified homes for under $100,000 and that’s REALLY Active Adult 4 Less!!!  (If you’d like to read any or all the seven previous parts to this article click here to visit our Active Living Newsletter archives).

In this, Part VIII of Active Adult 4 Less, I offer up to you a number of really great home values and communities that I have come across while doing my research.  They are a potpourri from all across the country with prices from under $160,000 to as little as only $54,900 (and are subject to prior sale).  Enjoy!

Summerset Landing is an active adult community located in the Hudson Valley of New York in Bronxville.  They are offering new construction (factory pre-built) homes there starting at $136,900.  Their model, "The Chatham" offers 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a 20' X 8' front porch at that great price!  When you contact them, please mention that you found out about their community in our Active Living Newsletter

For details on many more great New York communities, visit the New York state directory page of ActiveAdultLiving.com.

Valencia Lakes in Tampa, FL is an active adult playground offering a 27,000 square foot clubhouse, tennis courts, pools, basketball, pickle-ball and more plus new construction homes starting at less than $150,000.  An example is their “Cristina/31” (Regal Twin Villas Collection) at $149,900 which is a 1,321 square foot home with 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms and a Screened Covered Patio and 2-Car Garage.  KC Wilson, a local seniors-friendly buyer’s agent there, can represent your best interests in a purchase at no cost to you.

Central Florida is home to hundreds of super 55+ and active lifestyle communities.  To see details on them, click here to visit the Florida (Central) directory page of ActiveAdultLiving.com.

Further North in St. Augustine, Florida you will find the World Golf Resort.  If you are a golfaholic, this all ages community may be golf heaven for you!  It is a mega-community broken down into a number of neighborhoods with homes of different types, sizes and price points.

Their neighborhood, The Legends has a 950 square foot 1 bedroom plus den and 1 bath condominium with a screened Lanai at only $54,900.  OK, age-restricted it’s NOT, but golfer’s paradise, it just may be…

If Northern Florida is where you’d like to roost, you can also check out the Florida (North) directory page of ActiveAdultLiving.com to see details on dozens of additional 55+ and age-targeted active lifestyle communities.

I also found a super community in the Great American Northwest called Providence Point in Issaquah, WA.  There, I discovered a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom 830 square foot condo on the market and priced at only $110,000 which for Washington state is a super value in the Seattle area!!

There is also a 2 bedroom and 1 bath condo of 1,080 square feet in the same development value priced at only $139,000 which again is awesome for suburban Seattle – truly Active Adult 4 Less!!  To get more details on these homes, as well as all that Providence Point has to offer, call Sandy Flynn, our Seniors Realtor® specialist for the community.

To see all that the great state of Washington has to offer in the way of 55+ age-restricted and active lifestyle or age-targeted communities, I invite you to check out the Washington state directory page of ActiveAdultLiving.com.

SummerWind Plantation is a Master Planned Community of 530 homes located in Garner, North Carolina.  They are offering townhomes, either for lease or sale starting in the $150’s.  Also Cluster homes featuring covered porches with one and two car garages plus full yard maintenance from $200,000 as well as custom-built single-level homes and first-floor masters on quarter to third acre home sites from the $270’s.

Of course, with Active Adult 4 Less in mind it was The Harvest Maintenance Free Townhomes at 1,500+ square foot with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths from $150,000 that caught my eye!  Check out their website at www.SummerWindPlantation.com and get in on this great value!

And, get this!!  Speak with Ann Harmer, Sales Manager at SummerWind Plantation, and mention that you saw this article in our Active Living Newsletter and an electric club cart will be included with the purchase of a home there for you to drive on their private community roads and paths to their Wellness Center, Clubhouse – or to toodle over to a new friend’s house for lunch!

The great state of North Carolina is one of the up-and-coming hot spots for retirees, active adults, boomers and empty-nesters.  Check out the North Carolina state directory page of ActiveAdultLiving.com to see details on many, many more age-restricted and active lifestyle communities.

OK, I admit it!!  I love doing this research for you and I could go on for hours more because I love "sussing out" exceptional home values in amazing communities, but the boss is at me to get back to work – so until next time I bid you happy hunting in your quest to find Active Adult 4 Less.
