boomers reaching age 55 home developers

'age-appropriate' communities and have
created gorgeous communities

However, we have recently witnessed a
new twist in the market. People in their
40's (sometimes known as "dinks" - dual
income, no kids) are saying "Hey, what
about us? We'd like to live in a resort
style community with all those
amenities, but we're not old enough".
Once again builders have responded with
what are now being called "age targeted"
or "active lifestyle" or "resort
lifestyle communities". These
communities (typically gated or private)
emulate the amenities typically found at
luxury resorts, offering residents such
amenities as golf, fitness centers, spa
treatments, horse back riding, on-site
dining - perhaps even a private air
strip - as well as a host of special
interest clubs.
